Hafe manifold and 3076HTA 0.82

Hello,

Has anyone tried this setup on a Evo9?

I was wondering if the spool would be still acceptable with this setup, car would also be using kelford 272`s. Or would you recommend using the smaller turbine housing?

Is the Hafe manifold a good thing? The reason for this is it needs to look as much stealthy as possible..

Many thanks!

An FP Red or Black is far more stealth, can deliver around the same power but with better spool, and costs less. The Hafe manifold concept was an interesting idea 5 years ago, but not so much now with these new technology factory retrofit turbos.

thanks for the reply. But unfortunately i have tried my luck with an red and was not really satisfied.i know the 3076 from other cars and always thought a real gt series is the proper thing especially in the upper rev range, also making more power with less boost and stress.. i`m just wondering if this turbo will work with this manifold. Or if i`m better of with the smaller housing, response wise.. ?

Perhaps the turbo wasn't the reason you were dissatisfied. If you were unable to extract the most from an FP Red, I don't see a larger, slower spooling setup as something that would fix the problem. You should know that the FP Red and HTA 3076 have the same compressor. We don't know anything else about your car, so it is difficult to form an intelligent discussion.

I had one the first HAFE kits back in the day. its a good set up. dont know how well the mani flows compaired to a tubular, but i made 445whp with the 35r kit at 27 psi with 92 and some torrco.

Sounds not too bad to me. I wasn`t aware that this manifold is that old!!
Apart from the mani, what a/r do you guys like to go with the 3076?

Sorry Ted, concerning the Red, i would really like to move on a step and try a gt series..

dont waste your time on a 3076. go 35r or 5857 or one of many other better choices.,if you have not bought a turbo yet.

All I am telling you is there is not enough of a difference between FP Red and HTA 3076 to warrant the trouble. It's your money.

If we knew more about your car, we might be able to determine why your experience was not what you expected.

What it all boils down too is what are your plans?

T3 .63 is big enough if you want to minimise lag...

go with a HTA3076 if you can; or if you have a built motor a HTA35 / PT3562... depends on your power goals.

Im also a fan of making more power on less boost, octane is the problem in our country...
