(im getting questions about certain things so...)
1) YES... those are stock ignition coils running w/ an HKS dli II.
The other evos in the shop are running the Sparktech CDI and non CDI... but for some odd reason this thing has yet to have ignition problems, so I havent touched it. But im probably going to upgrade to a COP regardless pretty soon.
2) YES... that is a Nitrous guage on the far right. NO.. there isnt a kit installed in the car yet. I originally planned on having it since my friend's HTA86 runs great w/ a 60shot on the street. I am re-thinking that strategy now after the fact... BUT i'll keep it as an option for later. The domestic guys in Texas are relentless, LOL

well, we ran into a lil' snag at the track... the mivec gear bolt backed itself out (we couldnt see it since the mivec gear cover hides it) and it allowed the mivec cam gear to push out slightly creating enough play on the cam pin to cause it to break. Luckily it broke while i was idle in the staging lane and not WOT. I have a spare mivec gear and Huy was trying to re-machine the cosworth intake cam to accept another pin over the weekend. We'll see if it was successful. If so, he can then test the compression/leak down to confirm if the valves are ok. (We couldnt perform this test w/out a rotating cam earlier)
I was able to make a half wot pass (i let off at at the 1/8mi for its initial test pull) and it definately moved out! The logger showed i hit 120mph in 3rd gear around 10krpm and then i hit the brakes... so the slip showed a little lower. I think i ran a low 12 while on the brakes at the back half, lol. I was going to make a full pass next... and thats when the pin broke when i was re-staging. Hoping to have it fixed and back out so we can finally get a single digit pass under our belt.

yeah, tell me about it Chris... but i've been super lucky lately w/ the little issues that have popped up. Im hoping this one will be included, lol! Im just happy i dont have a hole anywhere... Im hoping the valves are fine and if so, i'll try to make another test pass before the upcoming event here in Houston. If bad news... then i'll take her down again and buy a new set of intake valves. We'll see in the upcoming days...

well, I lucked out once again, LOL!!! The cnc machinest that works closely w/ Inline was able to machine the cam pin end on the cosworth and fixed it by re-locating the pin. He also machined the mivec gear to accept it in the correct location. Everything was put back together and it started right up where it left off, lol. Motor is healthy and everything showed spot on. I think i dodged that bullet... whew...
well, back to the track i must go...
