Car appears to stutter/sputter over 30 psi
So I recently upgraded to a BBK Full (ported) and I have had an issue with the car sputtering or kinda stuttering over 30 PSI. I thought it was a major boost least at higher boost so I decided to by IC piping and a bigger FMIC (I kept blowing the stock hose off at the manifold....ended up breaking a old tbolt clamp I had).
After putting everything I kept blowing apart the IC piping on the UICP....Up until this morning I wasn't able to get a good run up through the gears. On my way into work I finally tightened everything down to where its holding together but I'm still breaking up at higher boost/PSI.
I'm thinking that it can be only one of 2 things. Either I need to upgrade my ignition system (At 30-35psi on a BBK full is this necessary) or my plugs need to be changed (I have about 20,000 miles on the current set so I'm thinking of replacing them and going one step colder).
Any ideas or suggestions on what else it could be? This is baffling me and I want to resume tuning the BBK but I'm at a standstill right now.

Its been happening for a few weeks I've filled up E-85 from 2 different gas stations.....unless an injector is going bad or something.
I'll be looking form some plugs locally I'd like to resolve this by the weekend if possible.

I'm embarrased to say I don't know. I bought the car of a tech that worked a local but very well known performance house.
I thought Evo IX's came with platinum. What is the copper equivalent?

No they come with Iridium, bushur sells the copper for the IXs if you wanna go that route. The plugs are different than the VIIIS. Gap the plugs to .022" before install, and if you get the iridiums do not use the cheesey gapping wheel, use feeler gauges.

Yeah I've heard/read horror stories about irdiums breaking when you try to adjust the gap. Can I find the OEM iridiums or their equivalent at a regular Automotive store or do I have to contact an performance shop?
A feeler gauge makes it easier to gap them (or possible)?

if u are using a stock plug too at that boost the plug spark may not be strong enought to combust the mixture, u may need to upgrade the ignition system, cuz it it works fine at low boost this must b the prob

I am having a similar problem. I have gapped my plugs down to .022 or .020. I am running ngk bpr7es and have had to change them frequently. I am just having issues with them breaking up. I am going to try a spoolinup cop and see if that helps.
