Show me some fast evos that run the thermal barriers.

None of BR's 9's club run them...

^ You can't make a blanket statement like that. That's pretty ignorant.

Maybe someone can do some testing on these, like AWD or Buschur?

Buschur doesn't use them? Well then, I guess that answers everyone's questions and this thread can be put to rest. Cuz we all know, if Buschur don't use them, then they must be garbage.

We actually do run them in every car we build. Although we have never tested them, We have tested back to back that removing/looping the coolent lines going into the TB keeps it cooler and seems to pick up between 2-3 whp every time. Basically, Every little bit counts. Just like removing weight, 5 lbs is not a big deal but if you do it a hundred times it is.

I would if it could be done fast enough, but the truth is the difference in HP would not overcome the difference just from the weather change.

So in your opinion/history with them are they worth it?

I would assume they would help more in road race or time attack vs drag racing.

Again, there is no "think", it's been proven to work. The coolant line/TB is a perfect example. If there is heat, there is going to be heat transfer.....simple as that. For 40.00, it is cheap and every bit helps.

If you decide on one, may i suggest the Hondata offerings. I personally know their quality very well.

I use them because they work. ITs not a huge difference but it is a difference non the less. A stock gasket costs like 15 and I think we sell the plastic ones for like 35. So 20.00 is a cheap mod.

If your intake manifold is getting hot not only will it transfer heat into the intake air but also creat higher under hood temps. The more heat mass you keep under your hood the worse it is.

I just purchased the intake manifold & TB gaskets to go along with my MAP Rev 3 intake manifold plus I will be removing all my EGR crap...should end up being a pretty nice setup...

Quite frankly, nobody gives a damn that the Buschur goons don't use these. This thread is about whether or not they work and yes they do work. Air is a fairly poor conductor but when we're talking about such a huge reduction in manifold temps, there is a difference to be seen.

And just so you know...VWJeff (another Buschur guy, 9 second BTW) runs a thermal gasket, Magnus stands behind them, STM uses them, AWD sells them, and Boomba promotes them.

So if you and your "Buschur powered" beast of a car don't want to use one, then don't. But don't step in here acting like you know for sure that they don't work. That's ignorance at it's finest and it sure seems like I'm seeing a trend here with guys like you.
