Rogue, maybe you should speak for yourself and make sure of your facts. Don't bring someone up and make them and the crew look bad because you are not informed. I feel bad saying anything but those guys that gave you crap were right

If you can read - I was asking who ran them. It wasnt an assumption that they did not run them. I know its difficult to read and comprehend what is intended without the emphasis you would be accustomed to in face to face verbal conversation.

My point exactly. Why add extra parts/liabilities to your car?

All Magnus cast manifolds come with both the TB gasket and the intake manifold to head gasket made out of this material, so there's another well informed vendor that recognizes their benefit.

This is an inexpensive part, in the big scheme of things. If you can save substantial heat soak into any part in the intake tract, that's a plus. That's what intercoolers do, right? Same reason that many racers insulate their upper intercooler piping, etc.

As soon as I can get over to the shop which has my melted Hondata POS phenolic gasket, I'll post up pics.

i have the phenolic ''or whatever its called'' brown one. the real deal types. not that ****ty plastic hondata one and i have not noticed a thing. the intake manifold still gets hot as hell. IMO they do nothing. doing a dyno test is useless. 1/2 hp changes can be done without even using the spacer. so there is no real facts.

i can pull off my manifold in 10 minutes to do a before and after but honestly if i pull the manifold off im just gonna leave the spacer out.

Since the phenolic gasket spaces the IM out a bit more, what are you guys doing to make the the alternator braket fit up to that crank angle sensor bracket? Anyone have any pictures/info on what they did to make it work?

All these small headaches are making me think it wasn't worth the $$$$ to go this route. My dipstick bracket doesn't line up either and there's a bracket on the driverside corner of the head that won't line up (but this one isn't as big of a deal, IMO).

Thanks for any help/info...

^^That bracket connects to 3 spots, IM/waterpump(I believe)/Alternator. I just cut off the part that connects to the IM. I deemed it unnecessary.

I have the MAP phenolic and it lowers the IM temp a bunch. As far as gains who knows, it's just baller status . Also, this would help prevent heatsoaking an IAT sensor if you stuck it in the IM like some do over the ECUflash section.

How long have you been running it like that?

Dan, there was a red gasket (I can find out who made it) that I used on a friends Sr20det. On average, the temp drop, per runner, was 40 degrees. I posted it on the first page, maybe some people missed it.

i went and looked. i did not find the link.

i dont think they work. engine temps and how it is driven or when you take measurements of the temps all play a big role. its more theory then facts IMO. while it is a good idea i do not think it does anything. maybe on a drag car that only runs for a little bit being the spacer will slow down the proses of heat getting to the intake manifold but on a street car that runs all the time IMO its worthless. and to say it dropped 40 degrees could be many reasons on why that happened.
