Was your car throwing any codes?

As for my tuning session, or lack of tuning session...

My car wasn't throwing the P0300 code anymore so we troubleshot the idle and the P0450 and P0453 codes. Couldn't figure out where there P0450 and P0453 codes were coming from, suspicion that one of the Evap system vales/sensors may be bad. As for the bad idle there's two theory's; One is that my time belt may have skipped a tooth due to incorrect installation of the tensioner, and two the idle speed control sensor may be toast on the throttle body.

He also found that my power steering pump is on its last leg.

Once my new power steering pump comes in Ill check the timing marks to ensure everything is still lined up.

Well some good news, while replacing my power steering pump I had a chance to check my timing marks. It appears my intake cam slipped and is now advanced two teeth on the sprocket. I suspect this is the cause of my tractor idle.

In two weeks Ill be on vacation and able to re-adjust my timing belt. I suspect it slipped due to a mis-install of the timing belt tensioner.

cam like iddle

ive been following your thread and is partially similar to mine. the only difference is that my rough iddle appears after a highway drive of at least 15 min. then after i get off the highway and come to an iddle the car sounds like it has cams. similar to the video you posted at the beggining of this thread. Also it seems that the longer the drive the rougher the idle. Timing has not been touched in the past year. and i HAVE NOT CHANGED ANYTHING RECENTLY that could be blaimed for the idle.

mods. TBE with test pipe/o2 spacer fix. MBC 21psi. injen intake UICP/LICP. GFB bov. dyno tune.

All those mods were done about 10 months ago. Ever since nothing has changed. over the past month this rough idle started after highway driving. also its rough during cold start. its seems to go up and down.

RPM monitoring:

COLD START - rpm is constantly fluctuating between 1100 and 1500 up and down. after a long warm up it levels out at 900(normal) but cam like idle
After HIGHWAY Drive - rpm drops sometimes as low as 400, ussualy 500 .. sounds like its about to stall / big cams idling sound.

PLEASE HELP!!!! TIA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

wish it was that simple... but the base idle wouldnt really change much... theres something obviously wrong with the car... just i dont know what exactly.. IAVC and EGR r my main targets.. just dont know exactly how to test them without buying new ones...

bringing an old thread back:

my car is doing basically what everyone is describing. drove it last week and it was fine. went on vacation for a week and drove it for the first time today. while cruising everything is fine, but when im at a stop and the car is in neutral, my idle will drop to about 500...spudder like it's going to stall but wont'. if i stop long enough, the rpm will creep up a bit to almost normal, which is around 900rpm for me. i also noticed the boost is not where it should be at idle. haven't gotten any CEL as of now either. my only mods are tbe, licp, intake, fuel pump, mr bov and a tune.

for those who had the same problems, what was the fix?
