Yes, it is very nice quality, built in Germany. Just 5 inserts in the floor each side and I have had my Range Rover up on it so I can vouch for the strength and stability ! Advice Needed: Engine Removal-rr.jpg

So I'm planning on hopefully removing my engine today (or over the next week) and I've got a rpetty firm grasp on things, but I did have a couple small questions. This thread was pretty helpful so I thought I'd just bump this instead of creating a new one to help out future searchers.

The only part I'm unsure about is kinda dub: it's about what fluids I'll need to drain. Obviously the motor/trans/acd/coolant will get drained, but I'm unsure about the power steering fluid and the brake fluid as well as the A/C freon (technically it's a fluid...) I guess that even if I don't have to I may as well replace them, but I'd just like to know for sure. For the freon, do I just open up a valve somewhere and it vents out? Or is it possible to remove the A/C system without having to lose the freon. (by freon I really mean R134a)

Also, what should I do with the coolant/steering/brake fluid? Should I mix it with the oil and bring it to a car shop like normal or put them in a separate container and bring that?

the AC gas should be vacuumed out..

the steering pump oil is just plain ATF, so just mix it with engine oil and dispose properly.

having said that, you can always remove the AC compressor from the engine an leave it hanging in the engine bay... remove the engine without it..
