All in what you want man the 6262 will have much more power potential but you'll have some increased spool time as you know.

If that is not an issue for you and its only a $300 difference assuming you sell your current set up. This is a no brainer decision 6262 FTW

Go with the 6262. It will make more power more efficiently. A T3 setup is cheaper in the long run. You might spend $300 more out of pocket now but with the amount you say you drive your car and the boost it will require to make the power on the black it wont last to long. One rebuild and you have spent more than the T3 setup would cost. Also with the T3 setup you have many options down the road. If you decide down the road the the 6262 isnt enough, you go with a 6765 or 3586..nothing else required. If its to laggy you go with a hta3582 or 6057 or 5857..nothing else needed.

bottom line: T3 setup is more efficient, makes more power at lower psi, more upgradeable or interchangeable.

Well said. The T3 setup will allow for easier changes if you decide to do anything down the road. A stock frame turbo is very limited. And as far as the cost goes, if you havent upgraded the other parts of the exhaust and intake already, you still need to spend the money on those to make use of the Black.

Yep! what he said
I was into the bolton stuff on my 97 gsx since early 2000 and wish I just went to a T3 setup right off the bat! when I got the evo I didn't even bother with the bolton just went with the whole AMS GT35r setup and be done with it!

you need a built motor to take full advantage of the 6262. If you're going to stick with the stock motor then get the black. No point in getting a large turbo on a stock motor if you're limited to 500ish whp.

As you will for the Black. Actually the lower RPM TQ hit of the Black may be far more straining on your bottom end with the Black vs. a 6262 or even 35r varient for that matter

Go with a BR 2.0 and a t3 and be happy with it. The BB will last longer than the black and you have the potential to make more power. Also think about altitude, we have less air up here so the 6262 will do the job better and not fall off as much as the Black. Power under the curve will be less so it wouldn't be as much fun but think about the snow, it would give you an extra 800rpms before it goes crazy. That's just my opinion and what i plan on doing if stuff starts falling right.

If you decide to go with ER or BR and have tobz build the engine, give either shop a call and ask them. I talked for a good 6 hours with Mike@AWD and DB about what I should do. After seeing the results I know what I want and the only problem with the T3 is there is sooo many options. You have the new PTE turbos, you have the older ones, 6262 and 6765, then you have the old HTA82, the HTA86 and now the new one that FP sent Mike@AWD. Then you have the air cooled PTE turbos. The Black would be nice but you can't just swap it out for anything bigger...

Well, at this point, it's the 6262! Unless they come out with a new turbo in the next month or less. Anyone know if they have anything in the works that is about to come out??? If they do, I would like to hear about it! I will be ordering my TFab V-Band T3 setup in the next coupe of weeks... I can't wait!
