Anyways my question is can i just use my evo 8 hotside (i have the 05 model so i believe its a 10.5 hotside) would i just be able to bolt up the 9 turbo to the 8 hotside? need help asap

The 16G 10.5 turbine housings used on the VIII's and the IX's are all interchangeable whether they be the later single flapper or the earlier dual-flapper versions. So, to answer your question...yes, go ahead and swap away with no fear whatsoever!
