Evo 8 Clutch/Transmission Issue! Help Needed!
...so for about 3 weeks now my car has been VERY difficult to get into reverse, and shifting into the other gears is not as smooth as it used to be...almost takes two hands to force it into reverse...
with the car off the transmission is fine...everything is smooth...so im guessing this is an engagement issue...
pushing and holding the clutch down and trying to go into first; the car wants to roll forward...same thing happens when i try to go in reverse...obviously the car wants to reverse...
so i recall a thread an a how-to on evomoto on adjusting the clutch pedal...so i follow the how-to and find that i can sorta get it into reverse now using less force...the bad thing is that the clutch push rod (the rod that the pedal pushes and pulls) is at its maximum spot...
my pedal is high as a kite...
the car still tries to roll forward a little bit...but not as much as before...
so i come on here and do a search and find something about taking the restrictor pill out...so i do that...and bleed the crap out of the system...
because from what everyone said on there the clutch would engage at a lower point now...well that didnt help me at all...
i know for sure that the clutch is not worn out/cannot be worn out...its a Cusco Twin Disk and ive tested it in 5th gear...NO slippage at all...i could be going 30mph in 5th and put the gas pedal to the metal and the rpm slowly rises...
i also have the Buschur SS Clutch Line and Buschur Shifter Bushings...if that would make any difference...
what else could be wrong?
I was thinking maybe the clutch slave is out? when i took the bleeder screw out of the slave the tip was quite rusty...and this is the tip that in the fluid...not the outside tip...
oh and i just came back from mitsu and they would charge me $75 for around 2hours to "diagnose" the issue...

I think it may have something to do with the paint. j/k
You bled it, changed lines, lengthened the adjustment rod. Sounds like either master, slave or air in the line. Did you bleed the clutch like the manual states? It sounds like you know what you know what you're doing.

My Exedy Twin(same thing) had the same problem. Either the intermediate or the pressure plate was warped, kept the plates engaged ever so slightly. It did not slip at first, but after launching it a few times with this problem, naturally, it started to.

Well in that instance you might be ok. You'd have to take the clutch cover off to get the intermediate and pressure plates out. You'd probably wanna go ahead and rebuild it with new clutch disks and all that.

But I'd drive it around and try to get used to the pedal. It's better than the alternative.

I had the same problem for over a week and half. Just like you said there and now, the trans doesnt even go into gear. Im thinking the TOB is fried as there is no clutch engagement at all unless you put it in gear while the car is off.
