fuel economy with bigger injectors...?

i am thinking of picking up an fp red and getting a set of 720's or 880's if needed. im just looking to see how the fuel economy is with them on the highway? is the tuneablitiy on certain injector sizes and types easier then others? i know once under power it will be putting through more fuel but the car is my daily and i would like to keep geting 24mpg highway. any imput appreciated.

get the high impedance FIC 1100's and be done......best DD set of injectors out there, don't even waste time or money on anything else.

They drive better and idle better than stock and yes your fuel economy will stay the same as long as you don't have an overly heavy foot and stay out of boost during normal DD duties.

bigger injectors dont mean that you are maxing them out all the time at normal driving. I have 1200cc on stock motor stock turbo and im getting amazing milage on loew boost normal driving. but obviously if i turn up the boost then it will use more fuel noticably

I've been wondering that myself. I get 24-25mpg average for my commute, and 29-30ish if I'm doing highway stuff, so I've been hesitant to upgrade to bigger injectors. I'd love to get some 1100s so I can run E85 sometimes too, but I was worried the injectors wouldn't be able to run lean enough during cruise to keep my mileage up.

The best mileage I've ever had was with 1000ccs all highway (29mpg). I'm sure tuning had a part in that too.

Larger injectors usually means more air being taken in therefore, the fuel/air mixture should stay relatively constant.

I think upgrading to those injectors should not greatly affect your gas mileage. In fact, with my my modifications (on stock injectors) I have better gas mileage than the stock setting when on the highway just cruising.

lol Explain driving a car hard at partial throttle on the highway. If you injectors are set up right then you should keep your mileage when not in boost. As soon as you reach the point in the throttle, rpm, boost the injectors start really spraying. I also learned during my last tune open loop and closed.
