Need a 2.4 block specialist!!
Ok I am going to star slowly assembling the parts for a 2.1 build and figured I would start with the most important part first, the block. So I know there are several vehicles that ran this block. I know that one is a Kia. Question for this block, and all 2.4's for that matter, how do I know I am gettiing the right generation block? Anything in particulat to look for? Markings? The casting number on the one I found locally is G4JS and 1067481. I know the G4JS is their number for the 4G64 but I am hoping one of the guru's on here might be able to see something in the other number to tell me if it will work. Or what I can look for. Thanks in advance!!!

One of the big advantages of the LR2.4 is it doesnt have as aggressive of a rod angle as the 2.3 and you can rev it pretty high.

Not sure what it is about the 2.4 I don't like, but that is not what I am looking for. Yes I am using the 2.4 block to destroke to a 2.1. I want to be able to rev to 9500 or so. Also with the super low rod/stroke ratio the wear on the engine will be less as well. I guess I will PM slowboy and see what they say.

Have to be VERY careful on this one. Not all Sebrings/Stratus have the Mitsu motor. Some of them use the 2.4L 420A (not sure on the code) Neon style motor. I am not sure I would say SBR is the only place that has lots of 2.4 experience.

Granted I ended up going with a 2.3 from Buschur but I did a lot of talking with Oliver over at SBR during my decision process and hes a smart guy. If I was going 2.4 I'd go with SBR.
