can't boost more than 1.3 bar on 25psi wastegate

so, i have black with 25psi wastegate, was able to boost to 1.7bar(close to 25psi) with EVC off.
now, i can only boost 1.3bar.

did leak test, a small leak around the catch can and near throttle body, all fixed.

drove again, same thing, only 1.3bar with EVC off.

next thing i want to check is the wastegate. how do i check the wastegate? hand vacuum pump?

PS: re did the setting on EVC(based on 1.3bar wastegate) and it's able to boost as targeted boost which is around 1.9-2.0 bar. so, i don't think this is turbo problem.

thanks for the reply.
i will definitely need to double check on the preload on the wastegate.

funny thing is, i used to run 1.7bar with EVC off and all of sudden, i am not seeing the boost...

Exactly how much peak boost do you wanna run with the Black and the FP 25# WGA?

First set boost the old fashioned way: Disconnect and plug off your EBC. Second, run a length of 4mm vacuum hose directly from the J-pipe nipple to the port on the WGA. Crank the turnbuckle on the end of the actuator rod inward(clockwise) about three to four complete rotations. Do a test run and report back the boost reading on your boost gauge,

def check the wg adjustment. you can test the actual actuator with an air compressor and a regulator but since your not overboosting there is not much point, when they fail they generally don't open

^ I adjusted my preload this weekend with my air compressor and gauge attached to the wastegate line from the mbc. Set the compressor for 20psi movement. 25psi opened slowly. Added 3 half turns, definetly made a diff in spool up.

last night, adjusted the wastegate preload, connect the vacuum hose from turbo outlet to wastegate(bypass whole EVC system), ran this am and it's boosting upto 1.8bar.

weird that i did not change anything and all of sudden i noticed that it's only boosting to 1.3 bar.

how often do we have to check the wastegate preload? just don't get it...

I would check to make sure you don't have any exhaust leaks, and everything in the exhaust system is tight. That can cause low boost issues too.

When it will only make 1.3 bar will it build boost just as fast? Or is it lazy getting up to the 1.3 bar?
