^^it will be explained with much more detail shortly. the main thing to look at is the vector (direction) of the exhaust gas as it leaves the manifold. the twinscroll arrow's all face out of the manifold, heading into the turbo. The singlescroll gets efficiency robbing "swirls" in the exhaust gas vector (highlighted in red circle)

This may be the first time I have ever seen CFD work that was actually relevent to manifolds posted on an automotive forum. Usually it is steady state flow, which is about as useful as flow bench numbers. A video would be killer.

Looks like the twinscroll shows much stronger pulse propogation into the other runner that it is tied to?

correct! this runner's exhaust valves are completely shut - so the end result is far higher pressure/force placed on the turbine wheel. the video makes this much easier to see. i will post it as soon as i can edit it

Science..... is a wonderful thing.

Then again there are still people out there that believe evolution is just a theory but Geoff you might of just gained some believers!

thanks guys - we wont abandon the singlescroll fanatics with this new technology. Even tho twinscroll is superior for most street cars, there are many singlescroll turbokits out there where the owners just want to upgrade the turbocharger rather than the entire kit..

on a side note - this is what a singlescroll Turbo thermodynamic system maps out as when properly laid out in CFD software:

edit: i pointed out some of the major components, you can probably figure out many of the others
