Rear Differential Issue
At my last autox event (on the roadcourse at Englishtown, NJ) my car felt really loose on one of the sweeping left hand turns. Then on the way home on a parkway I heard a loud vibration come from the rear on a few of the tighter left hand turns.
I checked the wheel bolts - all nice and tight. No play on the wheel so the hubs aren't the obvious fault. But I took it to my mechanic to have them put it up on a hoist and check everything through. He couldn't find anything out of place, but has an interesting theory. He says there's a chance that the rear diff is acting up. That could explain the loss of traction and the vibration during hard cornering.
I've done about 20 track days, and about three seasons of autox. Has anyone had an OEM rear diff fail on them like this? Power wise I'm only running with a full exhaust and reflash, with stock boost.
John (kekek) suggested that it might just be worn out camber bolts in the rear. I'll check on it tonight.
Any thoughts on either theory?

Time for a TRE rear diff. My rear diff first started acting up around 20K miles, whereafter I had to religiously change rear diff fluid every 5K miles to keep it from locking up in tight, low speed corners. Finally got tired of it and had Jon at TRE rebuild it at 40K miles and it's been great every since. One of the best $400 I've spent on my car.
