Head/Shortblock Question

I am wanting to upgrade my current setup (in signature) to an FP Black on e85.

Looking to do:
FIC 1450s
Buschur Double Pumper (?)
Shearer o2
External Wastegate

Am I missing anything?...kinda late/can't think..

Ideally I want to do a Buschur stage 3 head & stage 3 shortblock, but my question is... would just doing a buschur built head make sense?

My goal is to have ~450-500tq and/or 500-600whp.

if im not mistaken with the shearer o2 you have to get the matching downpipe as well so add that to list. whats the point of the external wastegate unless your trying to get 700whp and hold boost alittle better not needed for your goals. i understand teh br stage 3 head. what kind of br block 2.0 2.1 2.3 2.4? other then that pending tuning you should be good to go for your goals

Oh, just thought that the external would provide more stable boost and help the turbo breathe a little better.

Sorry, forgot to mention it would be a BR 2.0 block.

Haha, I'm still wondering though.. I know people say around 450tq is a good point to run a built engine, but can you get away with just doing a built head? And if so when would a built short block come into play?

It says in his sig Jun 272's. I would say you would be fine with a 2.0 but with a 2.3 it would spool better and get more torque out of it! External Wastegate would hold boost better and that is about it with the stock frame turbo. It definitely is a good idea though! I have always wanted to hear a stock frame turbo with external wastegate and dump! GL on your build!

Yeah, Jun 272s.

Is it a good idea to go with just a BR head and no shortblock or no?

no.. E85 on a black with any kind of aggressive tune is going to really push your stock engine.

I would also say you should be looking into bigger injectors as well

Get both if you have the cash, but the head alone doesn't make sense. The head isn't what goes after 420trq, its the rods.

yes that would be fine, but you WILL need to upgrade cams and valvetrain to give that black the revs it is going to need to get to 600whp

well i just noticed you have Jun cams which are pretty good. If anything i would say a 280/276 kelford like we have in our 6765 car it is a nasty combo for high revving cars. I would suggest some supertech duals or some type of beehive spring tho since you just have to rev those things up to get great power out of them on a 2.0 motor. Shoot me a PM and let me know if we can help with anything.
