HKS GD Clutch Max Twin Plate for EVO VIII any good?

I was looking for clutches. I am trying to stay away from Exedy as I have heard of several people having bad experiences with them. Does anyone have the HKS GD Clutch Max Twin Plate. Is it a quality clutch? I am probably going with either that or the Cusco carbon if I decide to spend that much. Any suggestions?

i'm using the HKS twins but its a bit hard to drive as the release is so soft on the clutch pedal. I'm considering changing to OS Giken twins as one of my bud is using em on his MR2. Better control i guess....

HKS GD MAX

My experience is VERY GOOD, Easy to drive allmost as stock.
I have had mine for 8000Km.

Allso tested the other HKS twin plate, but that one is a litle bit tricky to drive.

I have the GD MAX on my EVO VI,

HKS GD Max is excellent. Can't decide between that one or Cusco carbon double-clutch when my clutch starts dying slow

I just installed mine. It is very quiet except when the clutch pedal is depressed. Everytime, right as I am pushing the clutch in to change gears, I have a kind of loud rattling noise. It happens also if I rev the car with the clutch depressed. Is this normal? It seems that others are having this issue as well. If it is normal, it is not an issue to me, but just want to make sure it is okay. How many have this same thing?

BTW, how long do you need to break in the clutch?

Thanks,
Brian

Excellent clutch...too bad HKS jacked the price as of the first of the year...it used to be a relative bargain!

There is 100% nothing wrong with the Exedy units either.....I cannot even count at this point how many Exedy twins we ahve sold over the years for Evo's IV and higher...and I have not had a single unit come back for any warranty claim at all.
