Transmission problem

Ok so I was doing some spirited driving on the free way in my Evo, kept having trouble getting it into 5th gear. Once I was able to I took it out of 5th them noticed that it wouldn't go into any gear at all, pulled the car over and tried to get in gear while the car was stopped and nothing won't go into any gear, removed the shift linkage and tried again and nothing. Tried to do it manually and same result in won't go into gear, can anyone help me to diagnose what might be wrong and what else can I try

next easiest thing is try adjusting your clutch pedal. sounds like your clutch isnt disengaging.

if no luck after that, it might be time to pull the trans..

Would the clutch pedal not being adjusted cause it to not to go into gear while the car is off?

When my previous clutch went out this never happened, just major slippage.

oh jeez, yea everything is different. if its not going in gear while the car is off, its either your clutch or tranny is effed.

Broken tooth... Drain the fluid check the magnet catch on the plug. If it was a clutch couldn't he still change gears while the car was off without having to engage the clutch?

Check your linkage and such. It's not your clutch. even if your clutch is welded to the damn flywheel, it will go into gear when the car is off.

correct, if the car is parked and off, if it still isnt going into gear something internally went wrong with the transmission.

time to pull it out and get it rebuilt..
