LICP... need help??? ETS kit

Putting on a lower intercooler pipe from ETS. The reducer to the turbo outlet measures at 1 3/4 inches roughly. The turbo outlet pipe is black and measures at a little under 2 1/2 inches. Am I missing something here? The T-bolt clamp wont even go around the turbo outlet. I first thought you had to cut the outlet at the smaller diameter, but I realized the piping would not reach the outlet if cut.

Added pics..... thought he added a turbo outlet pipe (non-stock) but he said he did not touch it.

Did the car have an aftermarket licp from a different brand before? I do know that Turbohoses sells a licp for the evo with a larger J pipe for it. Maybe you got something like that going on. You may just need a larger coupler if thats the issue.

That's what I was thinking. He did have a helix kit on there prior. What does the stock turbo outlet look like?

I think your right. The helix kit does come with a stepped turbo outlet.

The one on his vehicle looks exactly like the one in the pic. Problem solved!

It will fit. It is a pain, you just have to work the clamp on there. I am using the same licp w/ couplers. Took me a minute to do.

sgt_petty_210 are you running a aftermarket J-pipe or do you have the stock one? Cuz theres no way I could stretch the ETS cuppler over the Helix J pipe.

use some silicone spray or some wd40 on the pipe and a little on the inner edge of the coupler. hold the clamp above the coupler past the hump, while pushing on the coupler. it's a pain, but you can get it. i have the stock turbo and intercooler though.

Multi ply silicone hoses do not "stretch" that much. You guys think it's possible to stretch it 3/4 of an inch to fit over the helix 2 1/2 inch flange?

Isnt the stock outlet J pipe like 1.75"?? Its not the same diameter as the ets licp, thats why they give you that coupler with the transition. I wouldnt mind being in your situation, I'd love to have the larger outlet pipe on there.
get a stock j pipe or larger coupler.

The only way that pipe is going on is with an upgraded coupler. You are correct donaudi the coupler is not going to stretch that far and i doubt the T- bolt clamp used to secure it to the J pipe will even fit onto the after market J pipe, even if it was completely loosened. Just be glad that it is in fact a bigger J pipe, its a nice little upgrade! Get a bigger coupler and call it a day.
