Ive had the oppurtunity of installing a shep trans on a customer car their great also my best friend has one in his 90k evo8 which we have used very hard at autox it never misses a beat .
Personal bad experience through jacks transmissions .

Also im pretty sure shep does mess with the oiling passages as well

It's the reason a good amount of my $$$ is in Shep's pocket and not his.

I was gonna go TRE but this^^^^ 5 emails and NO Reply

There is also Jacks transmissions. He is located in Colorado, which is the closest out of the 3.

The previous owner of my 04 RS had the tranny done there and it runs good and gives me no problems

You will get a lot of differing opinions. Both companies do good work and have a good reputation. TRE is harder to get a hold of but in my opinion worth the wait.
I've had both Shep and TRE parts on my DSM's and on my Evo. I previously had issues with the Shep parts, however I would still trust them to do a good job. Everything I've had from TRE was tried and true no issues. So truthfully it's up to you

This ^^^ I know he's back in graduate school from what I hear, and the work is top drawer, guy really knows transmisions. BUT, getting timing and such from him will make you crazy. I don't think he would ever rip someone off, just be ready to sit and wait.

I like Shep. My dad has a Shep trans in his Eclipse and it's perfect. I've also e-mailed questions and concerns to Shep about the OEM trans and he replied within a day and I wasn't ignored, even though my questions had nothing to do with HIS trans. Good guy and good company.

Certainly nothing against TRE, I just have no experience with them.

It sucks that TRE does have good customer support for questions and everything as they would get alot more bisness. Sense they do quality work.

BR is more known for their short blocks and heads than trannys. With that said never heard of a bushwacker failing.

Shep has great Customer service and a good reputation in the dsm community. That's why I had my tranny and tcase done by shep. I dont worry about my drive-train anymore since getting the shep treatment

I don't think I have heard anything bad about anyone.

I do know that jacks transmissions last time I heard was pretty busy and stuff was backing up.
But shep is the same way but that makes sense when you have 60+ transmissions and transfer cases in your shop.

Shep is great though with answering questions very fast, I have his transmissions and transfer case and so far the thing is still asking for more.
