Question TRE VS. Sheptrans

so i need the trans rebuild im gonna try and take it out myself and ship ot off to one of these guys they booth look good and have herd nothing but positives about both places. the TRE has some sort of oil res upgrade, is this good? idk about fooling around with how the oil flows, but might help out the trans. but also the Shep rebuild is $50 less and also looks like shep replaces synchro springs and roll pins where as i dont see that in the TRE replacemet parts list. any help? witch one is better?

I'd say that either one would be a good choice. I have always used Shep's stuff and have never had an issue. Also, if you e-mail or call Shep, guess what? HE ALWAYS ANSWERS! That, in my book, counts for a lot. I have heard nothing bad about TRE, but a big part of me always going to Shep is bcus Jon at TRE NEVER ANSWERS. It's the reason a good amount of my $$$ is in Shep's pocket and not his.

that

You will get a lot of biased opinions. Both make good transmission upgrades, both have good reputation;

TRE is good, Shep is good. Take your pick on who answers your questions best.

Shep is my drivetrain man, always has and always will.

Look, these threads inevitably turn into useless debates based solely on OPINIONS. OP, pick one and you'll be happy with your decision. You cannot go wrong with either one. They are BOTH competent and BOTH produce quality results. End of story.

Don't forget to look at TurboTrix for a tranny rebuild. I had one of their DSM transmissions and it was easily the smoothest shifting Mitsubishi transmission I've ever felt in my life. If my Evo ever needs a rebuild I'll be going back to them without a doubt.

Never drove on a Shep tranny so I can't comment. The TRE had smooth engagement making it almost impossible to miss a gear. Everything was just on point. Shep is very popular though and there is a reason for that. His car spoke for what he does.

Had trans done with TRE for my old 2.3 and it was flawless. I'm sure I'd have the same experience had I gone with Shep.
