ported my first evo head!!! (before and after pics)
now i just need to get the guides installed the machine work done and get it on the flow bench. this is a friends head that he wanted freshened up but i thought i would go a little further. i would classify the work done here as street strip with combo chamber work. theres not a whole lot of material removal because again he just wanted some light porting so i went ahead and blended the seats, knifed the dividers took the port entry and exit out a slight bit just enough to even them out and get rid of that taper on the intake side inlet. i also trimmed the guide bosses on the exhaust down ever so slightly and knocked the intake side all the way down (not that there was a alot there to begin with) and ported it enough to get through the casting lines ont he sides of the ports and get rid of the humps in the on the sides of the throats under all the seats. lmk what ya think..........

OMG, is this my head! looks sexy .
Since i will stay with a stock frame turbo and stock size valves, i only wanted a clean up of the inside chamber, removing casting lines, and smooth out anything that will cause turbulence.
yes, it will get flow benched, but unfortunately, i did not get before numbers. however, last year, i ran 11.65@116.5 mph with the mods in my sig, 23 psi and 91/meth. the only change i have made this year is speed density, so new track times with this head will be a good comparison.

I could be wrong, but it looks like you may have taken a fair bit of material out from the throat of the valve seat? If so, I'd have the seat throat remachined to make sure they are still round. Just have the minimum taken out, the throat to face ratio is already pretty good stock. You get a seat with thin areas and they pull heat away from the valve funny. It can end up as a burnt valve.
Check your valve tip height after the valve job too, I have a feeling you are going to need to grind the seats pretty hard since you didn't protect them from your porting work.
Looks like you have a steady hand and a lot of patience though. Good work.
