about buying a Evo 9 shortblock

about buying a Evo 9 shortblock

Hey guys,

I have an Evo 8, I am about to purchase a built Evo 9 shortblock, will i have any problems bolting it up to my stock Evo 8 head and need anything for the Evo 9 shortblock to work on my head 8 or Evo 8 car at that?

you have to plug the mivec oil feed location up thats it.

no, u need to get an adapter so you can install your oil psi sensor where the mivec line goes.

Read that thread. Pay attention to the headgasket too. When mix-matching evo 8/9 block/head you match the headgasket to the head I think. I can't remember.

Check out this page too. This is matching a 9 head to a 4g64 block, but still might be good info

but yea short answer you can plug that hole or use it for oil press. sensor

The AMS adapter is $40. You can buy one on eBay for $7. Just search "M12x1.25>1/8 npt" to find it.
