gotcha gotcha, in that case, no i did not remove the cross member, i found out the easiest way to get the tranny out, is pry a little, then pretty much get underneath the car as dangerous as it sounds, just bench press the tranny and wiggle and let it drop out onto your chest and gently put it down and slide it out. i tried stupid little transmission jacks.. nothing beats muscle. lol no homo

Another lil tid bit, try removing the radiator if you didn't already, then use a ratchet strap from a stout point on the turbo to the bottom of the raqd support. You can use this to pull the engine forward until the power steering pulley just touches the frame rail. it makes it alot easier to not get back oif the tranny hung up on the corner of the subframe

I have been using strap Iron snap pull for a couple years now. Cost a 1$ for a roll. just loop it into a two foot circle. doubled up in thickness. I needed a light weight solution when I flew to Utah to pick-up my evo 4 that needed a clutch. I took all the tools needed to do clutch on site before driving it home. Didnt want to carry heavy slide puller. It works so well I have been using it instead of slide hammer.
