double pumper question

im not really 100% on this yet, but i was sitting in class thinking about ways to wire in a second fuel pump using a similar technique to buschur racing. my thought was that running two pumps 100% of the time isnt always needed. i was curious to see if anyone has used a pressure switch to kick the second pump on at a desired amount of boost? is this stupid and not worth the extra wiring?

I am pretty sure that is the way some people do it is with a switch. I think some use after market ecu to kick the second pump on.

That is exactly how the buschur double pumper works. 2nd pump turns on at 5psi.

I actually bought the double pumper pressure switch from Buschur after I tried the full blown but inevitably swapped to the Buschur unit so now I have an extra pressure switch

another way is rpm switch. I run my second pump controlled thru the ECU's (Haltech E6X) controllable PWM output. It kicks on at 10psi for me, but can be set to anything within the MAP sensor range. The Hobbs works the same way and is much cheaper!

Pressure switch it is, mine kicks on at 10psi. Ordered mine from MaPerformance.
or you can go to a local Napa, Checkers, or anything like that. They should have them.
