Comparison of Buschur Muffler and Magnaflow

Buschur Racing 3inch Exhaust comparo with Magnaflow and Buschur Muffler

INTRODUCTION
I have been using the Buschur Racing 3in Turbo back exhaust for a few months now. Exhaust has been great except for loudness of muffler. I originally had the test pipe on, it was unbearable. It stayed on for about a week. I then ordered the high-flow cat. That quieted it a bit. It was still a little too raspy. When I heard that they were offering the exhaust with the Magnaflow, I had to try it. Below you will see my findings. Tests were performed within 30 minutes of one another.

FITMENT
The exhaust's fitment is not very pleasant. No matter how hard I tried, I was unable to get the canister parallel to the ground. Without looking underneath you can't tell. (I still know inside that its not right, and it's killing me. I will call Tym at Buschur next week for a better fitting unit. The tip now sits about 1/4 inch from bumper. Not sure if long term it will drop more or not, nor do I know if it will touch. But for now, we will see.

TESTING CONDITIONS
The test was conducted by using a Sony DCR-TRV18 MiniDV camera. The location of the camera was approximately 8 feet away from exhaust. The Buschur muffler was already on the car when the recording was done. I swapped the Buschur with the Magnaflow and tested under the same conditions.

RESULTS
Both mufflers sound aggressive. The Buschur has a bit more mid-bass rasp to it. The Magnaflow exhibited a much quieter sound, but with more on the low frequency side of things. I personally am satisfied with the sound of the Magnaflow. My neighbors appreciate the softer sound. Interior cabin sound is a lot better now. A little easier to hear the kids and wife though . Besides the lopsided canister the muffler is fine.

SOUND BITES
The sound clips are approximately 1mb each. The output of the sound from my Logitech Z560s was identical to the "real world" sound. My kids were looking outside for my car when I was editing the videos .

Sounds great I have heard the Bushur in person and the Manga Flow. Both sound good it all I guess depends on how loud is acceptable for you. I do have to say out of all the exausts I have heard the Bushur sounds the loudest and meanist and it does also make the most power out of all of them. Thanks for the side by side sound bite's

More info

Did some more cruising. Exhaust is way more mild than old muffler. Pictures of exhaust below.

Can you post another photo that shows more of your exhaust. A shot from lower down looking up would be great. Thanks for the sound clips. I agree with you, that the tractor sounding one isn't for everyone.
