AMSOIL Cold weather tick?

Anyone running AMSOIL 10-30w ( the 25k one) and have a ticking on start up?

NO IT IS NOT LIFTERS, I BLED THEM ALREADY.

It goes away after the car is driven for a mile and warms up. I usually let it idle a few minutes first too. It was 20F when it started. I thought I lost a rocker!

Anyone? TICK TICK TICK TICK TICK TICK ...I just want my car to be fun again

Boost leak that wont seal, coolant leak that wont heal, ticking like a swiss watch, intercooler that only fits crooked, stalls when I come to a stop; oh yeah, I'm having a great time.....

I never thought I would want to sell it, but.......

Hopefully, you are not running it for 25K.

how long have you been running it? I recently had the same issue running 20w-50 and I get the same ticking when it's cold but once it gets real warm it goes away. A local tuner told me not to worry about it because the oil is just causing an oil pressure drop when the cars cold and causing the lifters to tick. I've been running my 20w-50 for about 500 miles or so btw

Car ran fine until I did the oil change. I just did it three days ago. I have never had this problem, so I assume it is the oil that needs to warm up; why would the same weight (10-30) behave differently than Mobil 1? 64k of Mobil 1, 5 miles of AMSOIL. Sounds like this is common from above posts.

i can tell you that is does not sound comon from personal and cuatomer expirience on the ATM 10W30, specially when this oil has a cold flow much lower than Mobil

What else is going to give me these symptoms that reolve after the motor warms up? I say again, the lifters have been bled.

It's exactly what I'm experiencing above it's not bugging me since it's not permanent because it goes away once the car warms up, but if it's bugging you just go back

I got the SAME ticking when the engine is cold running amsoil 1030. Once it's warmed up it goes away, kinda weird. I had a slight ticking with mobil 1 when engine was cold but it was never as loud as it is with amsoil.

I'm curious what oil filters are being used, some have a check valve that may cause this noise and dissipate once warm. I run Amsoil with the Amsoil filter and have no problems.

I'm running a napa "gold" oil filter and my cars "ticking" isn't too loud so it doesn't really bother me anymore since it does go away.

Are you insinuating you don't let your car warm up before you drive it?

Although I am not famiiar with the Amsoil product lineup, you might want to try a lighter weight Amsoil motor oil such as a 0W-40, or 0W-30, just to see if this cures your cold ticking.
