Thats strange...

Is that like an un finished head or is it just never going to receive any coolant flow?

no it's finished..we weld the coolant passages up with the super high boost applications (50+psi) so if the head lifts, the water will not get under the car and get the tires wet. When your going 191mph the last thing you want to be thinking about is lack of traction due to water.

The head still uses water, it is just run separately. I wish I took a pic of the 2J we did that was filled with block filler concrete..they run methanol so no real need for water, besides..it runs for 6.20's so probably only runs for under a minute.
