would you ever?

purchase a set of used valve springs?

im looking into a set of GSC beehives singles and would like to purchase a set used.

Also would you purchase a set of cams used? again leaning towards gsc s1's or s2 's.

would like to know the cons of purchasing a set used. what should i watch out for other then lines on journals?

I would have thought that as long as the springs are all the same free length then they should be OK. And as long as the cams are not worn, which happens pretty quickly once the hard surface is worn through, then they should be OK too. You should be able to tell by looking.

Personally no. Springs get worn and when you put in used springs, they all start a different tension. This is the same principle of getting 1 rod with another 3, you have to balance the 1 to the same weight, specs as the 3. With cams, people do get used cams JDM cams etc. As long as the lobes are not erased or ground down in any way, you should be fine.

Get the used cams, but spend the money and get new valvetrain. It will really help out and keep you worry free. Hit me up, we have deals on supertech stuff which is cheap and works great.
