thanks for the help. i went ahead and disconnected the wire. started the car and went to look at the ac compressor... the belt snapped! i shut off the engine and took out the belt. the clutch does spin freely meaning its disengaged however i noticed the ac pulley is loose...

looks like i will need a whole new compressor unit?

edit: holy macaroni... $619 for a new compressor! anybody got a used one they want to sell me?

The ac clutch is not what went out its the actual pully. If you go to advance or autozone you can get a belt. I have the part number in my car I'll post up later or you can google Evo ac delet and I think you'll find the number. U don't have to take the compressor off to run this belt and yes you can use it at wot. That's how I dyno and race so that the compressor doesn't go out again. And you'll need a new compressor. Hope this helps.

if u need a new A/c compressor i'd be willing to sell u mine, i just took it out for room and the fact that i didn't want it anymore. we could work out a good price.

it was only used up untill 22,000 miles. my car currently has 29,000

Let me know.

try spinning all the pullies see which one is seized, obviously the crank pully won't turn as freely as the rest...
