Evo towed by conventional tow truck
My buddy got towed several miles in his evo with two wheels touching th ground. His car was making some funny noises when he was turning. Today while at a red light, he head a loud noise, and now the car will not go above 20.
Wish I could elaborate more, but this is all he told me.
What is the problem?

His transfer case is toast, the tow truck driver should have known better not to tow an all wheel drive car with two wheels on the ground.Go back to the tow company and make them pay to fix it.Evo's should only be towed with a flatbed truck.
Have your friend buy one of these stickers

I've always known that AWD cars need to be towed by a flatbed and the manual says that as well. As far as your friend's evo, the drivetrain is most likely messed up. He might want to consult with the dealership or a tuning shop to get this fixed. Not too sure, but the insurance company should be able to help out.

Yes, he knew it was supposed to be towed on a flatbed, but they took it in the middle of the night. It was acting alright for a few weeks with the exception of the noise when turning. Then at the red light, it made some noise.

Not taking action immediately after the car was towed will likely prove to be a very costly error. No one likes giving good people bad news, but this is most unfortunate.
