help please serpentine tensioner broke

help please serpentine tensioner broke

serpentine tensioner broke
hey guys just got my car running after a year and i did the a/c delete and last night i was driving and then i lost power steering and car started getting hot so pulled over and thought i broke the belt come to find out i broke the tensioner so this morning i got a new one and like three hours ago this one broke idk what it could be i am not sure if anyone has heard anything or have ever had this happen to them please help me out thank you ill try to get a pic up soon

Get some pictures of the parts failure and we'll have a better idea of what broke & why.

I'd start off by getting a larger belt, it looks like way too much tension is being applied which is causing the stress break.

^^^^ agree you have to much tension on the belt tensioner! Double check your ac delete and make sure it was put on right, since it is the only new part involved.

well i got a new tensioner and put the belt on took a look and the tensioner is pretty maxed out but i just never though about being to tight cause the belt went on so easy but im going to get a new belt and the weird thing is i went two days and then the first one went i drove around chicago for like 4 hours and i was fine but ill have my car running good soon thank guys for the help

is there anywhere besides the dealer that you can purchase a new tensioner

Did you use the belt from the evo rs? Im sure the tensioner is the same part number as the other evos,but I would double check to see if you can get the tensioner as well from an rs, just in case. Its issues like these why I dont delete my a/c. Are you guys having these tensioner/belt issues caused from not using oem parts?
