HKS Valve Spring Install

Quick question-- will be installing Valve Springs, the new HKS. Is there a top and bottom to these springs? I.E. whats the paint mark for?
Checked the retainer on the springs, one end seems a little tighter then the other--hence the question. haven't mic'ed it, thought I would ask. Didn't think there was a difference, so experienced installs only pls. thx.

green is retainer side. but it has nothing to do with retainer fit. the coils are tighter wound near bottom of spring. less windings mean lighter spring. the lighter end of spring should be placed near the moving end. IE the retainer side.
