Garret releases the mid frame GTX turbo line :)

Finally!

I'm pretty interested in the GTX3076R, well only if it comes in twinscroll.

I'm curious to see results when they start selling them and people begin to start testing em out.

I'm curious on how the GTX series stacks up to their HTA counterparts.

I may have to test the GTX35r on Shawna's car vs. the standard 3582r.

Was wondering when someone would start a thread about these. I already have mine pre-ordered. Should be great turbos just like the GTX42R and GTX45R.

GTXR42R has not proven to be a great turbo. We have taken ours off and gone back to the 4202 standard line up turbo. All the 8s we have run have been on an off the shelf GT4202 in a Tial housing. The GTXR42 doesnt work in the TiAl for sure, it could be that we ran into housing issues and that was why it didnt work too hot.

I would think about waiting to see what the turbo does in smaller form before I'd do anything. I doubt that they are going to be better than the FP HTA stuff based on what I have seen of the GTXR42R.

I feel similar, not because I have Experience like you Aaron but because FP is in the community and they build turbos with our cars in mind. Unlike Garrett that makes the same thing for every application. I prefer parts made by the shops that are represented here on the boards. They show their support for our community and the platform we love so I am gonan show my support for them by buying their products.

I guessing you guys did not have such great results is due to the housing. For starters, even the 1.15 is too small to make use of the GTX wheel, you really need a T4 or T6 in at least a 1.28 a/r. If you were having issues on top of that, I can definitely understand why you would have poor performance with the turbo overall.
