haha this exactly...I can't believe the tranny just split in half like that crazy man...

So what are the plans now...who are you going to get a built 5 spd from?

The usual suspects. Shep, TRE, Daniel Buschur. Have been calling/emailing around. Any words of advice for me?

the case broke not the gears imo
so a 5 speed would have done exactly the same
aren't the 1st and 2nd gears the same anyway between the 2 tranny's
unless the 5 speed does have thicker/stronger case?

It seems a motor mount (I think that's what it is) was damaged as well. Right above the trans. I updated first post.

I'm starting to think when my builder opens it up the gears are going to be in good shape. Even so, everyone I have spoken to thus far thinks it is very strange for a case to break in such spectacular fashion. I'm not sure I've ever seen it here before. Maybe there was already a hairline crack or something? I take full blame for not reacting quickly enough to the wheelhop but this is seriously unlike anything I've ever heard of.
