What might happened to my Turbosmart Dual-Port BOV???

Hi!
I have Turbosmart Dual-Port BOV on my EVO 8. It is setup as Recirculating and VTA at the same time. Everything was working fine for long time until couple days ago. My car started to stall like with regular VTA BOV. I swapped it for stock valve and everything is OK. So it is something wrong with Turbosmart one. I did not do anything to it lately (about 6 months). No modifications and no BOV adjustments. Why did it happened. What might be wrong with it???

Pull it apart and check the diaphragm for holes/leaks.

There is no diaphragm in this bov (at least no rubber one). I guess the brass metal piston works as diaphragm. But it is OK. No holes or cracks.

I assume you have never taken it apart to clean it and re lube it since you got the BOV correct? These things will build up some gunk and get stuck and not work right. Try cleaning it and lubing it and see if that works. Same thing happened to me years back when I ran the turbosmart dual port in 50/50 mode, the cleaning job worked for me.

Since it works normally with your stock BOV, and acts like VTA when you put swap back the Turbosmart, I'd guess the recirculating side is not working properly. test that side off the car and tell us what you find

Maybe your spring is going down the drain. Maybe get a new spring for it since they are not expensive and see if that solves your problem.
