so i would never have thought a lancer trans would fit in an evo but this comp that sells trans is trying to sell me a trans from an 04' lancer FWD and says it WILL fit in the evo. is this true?

Even if it was remotely possible there is no way a lancer transmission could be able to hold up to the torque of an evo

A 3g eclipse tranny will fit in a evo. Dont know why you would want to put it in a evo tho.

ya thats what i thought but these guys practically told me i didnt know what i was talking about. they say the reg lancer and evo have the same trans. i didnt really beleve it so i decided to ask here, good thing

and acd isnt part of the trans just a lil fyi for first guy

haha, FYI, the ACD is part of the transmission, its located in the tranny housing.

This sounds screwy to me. Even if the transmission will bolt up, and it might, what does the transfer case bolt to? If no transfer case you have FWD only. I remember the FWD turbo DSMs - tires in back like new and tires in front bald and they made a lot less HP than an Evo.

^it won't work, like i showed you, the ACD is in the tranny therefore if you have an ACD evo, you can't use the Lancer's tranny.
