thats just it, you can get a turbo to produce good power/spool without it being twin scroll... the aftermarket turbo selection is enormous and there is always something out there to choose from depending on your goals

Im considering the fact of paying around $2k for a internally gated bolt on turbo
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Garre...Q5fAccessories
$1860 total
vs.
$2400
ATP's bolt on setup with a dp, external style wg

The hotside flow arrangment looks horrible on these new ATP turbos.

I agree...do you think heavy porting on the inside may make the flow a little better?

I don't think any amount of porting is going to make up for the hairpin corner the exhaust makes on the inlet of that turbo. I wouldn't bother with a tubular header on these though, the choke point is obviously going to be in the turbine housing. People should realize the turbine housing is designed to accelerate the flow into the turbine wheel smoothly and ts is a critical aspect to good turbine performance, not bash it into a wall and make it turn 90+ degrees. I think they would literally be better just making it more like the old "center inlet" T4 housings. They at least flowed well, although they killed turbine efficiency. I think this housing will kill efficiency and flow.

The only dyno chart they have that looks reasonably good is the GT3071R. I would put it up against an HTA Green on spool, the HTA Green would dominate it on power though.

They had been considering sending us one to test but apparently have decided that wasnt what they wanted to do afterall.

Well, thats ridiculous...maybe I should start harassing them with a bunch of emails and phone calls to send you guys one...ATP won't sell any of these till a shop like yours gets one and tests it...

I have a 3586 and will be going to either a 3794/91-80 so its not in my interests to buy one. Call me spoiled but I am not going to pay to lessen what I have

I dont know this for a fact but it seemed that the price was revealed shortly after I contacted them initially and MAP knew first. Perhaps they are testing it instead? Not sure. We'll see results sooner or later I am confident.
