When it's covered up by the 02 housing and exhaust manifold heatshields, it might look a lot more stock

are these things going to require a strait 60wt XTREME synthetic group 9 oil with 2,000,000,000 ppm zinc like fp turbo's?

Just to be fair, FP produces some great turbos. I have 80,000+ miles on an OG Green.

If these ATP turbos work well, I'll be tempted to buy one. If not, I'll find a used FP Black and send it to Owen Dev. for a BB conversion.

Don't you mean, "doesn't mean it doesn't matter to someone else". Grammar tends to play a decent role on helping your case if you are discussing/debating/etc something.

So back to the stock appearing issue. Your FP black or FP red, or even the FP green all are recommended to use the relocated oil feed line. It's pretty obvious to the eye if you aren't using the factory oil feed on the head, hence not stock appearing.

I can keep nit-picking if you'd like?...

Maybe you should call it "stock appearing to the average waterhead".

well im glad we have the grammar police in this thread. pretty pathetic, anyway...

i didnt come up with the classification of all these turbos being called "stock appearing". i never said these turbos look just like stock turbos. i was simply calling them what they are called..... if you dont agree with that or like it, take that argument up with FP. thats what they classify their turbos as.

i honestly could careless about FP stock appearing turbos or the ATP turbos. i will never run either

A heat shield isn't going to cover the obvious fact that it's not reverse rotation.

I would agree as well, the 80mm cover loses the "stock-frame" debate in my mind too, but the community thinks differently. As for the oil line though, I have a stock IX turbo with a different oil line. Just did it to protect the turbo. But I'm not going for any kind of a sleeper look, the stock IX turbo is just one damn fine turbo that meets my goals well. I think the FP, HKS and others could pass an inspection from some law enforcement official and inspection station. Good luck with that on these, but for most that's probably not an issue anyway.

We shall see how these perform. The results already look pretty weak though. 500 on E85 and a GT35R? Something is choking the hell out of that setup. The mod list is pretty weak, but that seems very soft for even that setup. The GT3071R setup is more impressive though, looks like maybe that housing is good to 450 WHP or so and 6000 RPM before it calls it quits? We shall see...

Would you like me to dangle the 'ole dice on your forehead?

When people forget to put entire words, it can be pretty annoying. Not nearly as annoying as the people who type like they are 13 and texting on a cellphone. No one even does that anymore.
