Switched from Red to Black...

Yesterday my car got tuned with my new FP-Black.
However i did expect a lot more than we achieved.
Even though the Injectors went from 85% with the Red to 100% Duty with
the Black now to keep the same AFR'S......the car doesn't feel stronger.
There must be something holding the power back.
The only things that are still stock are the Throttle Body and the Intake-Manifold.
We have not yet been to the dyno....but my popo-meter tells me that
with have a maximum gain of 20hp. .....running the same boost as with the red (30psi).

any ideas?
when is the stock BF maxed out?

best regards,
Luke

i would never max out my injectors, you need a buffer.
time to raise the boost if you can.

I've never owned the Red but I had the HTA Green and now the Black, pound for pound the power was simialar just a few rpm's up with the Black, but just giving it a couple more PSI should get you some nice gains over what you could see on the Red...

Edit: In my case however, I had a new shortblock and cylinder head repair done... which will of course effect the outcome of the swap from the HTA Green to the Black so perhaps my results are not typical

i made the same switch about a month ago..
gained about 70+HP same boost.. On E85

I still kind of miss my Red though, I would not mind the black on 2.3 or 2.4

you don't really have to crank the Black up to make great power like a lot of people think... I make 612hp on 25psi.

sure on a stock motor it will take a 42psi spike to make any power but a typical setup can make great power on 30-32psi.

The fiance wants me to sell it and pay her college... we are hurting for money right now. Not my choice and trying to work around it

This is true..
580 on 34psi is not too bad..

600+ on 25psi is just crazy power... Now i see that you are on 2.4 LOL

The 2.4 is better than the 2.3 + the 2.4 is cheaper to build. You can get a 4G64 block for like $300 and sell the stock 4G63 for $800-$1000. That will give you at least $500 towards a nice set of Wiseco 1400HD pistons. Now once you have the 4G64 block you can run a 6mm longer rod making it a LR2.4

You make the 2.4 so compelling. I still have a lot to learn about the different strokers but your setup is definitely one i am interested in.

Keep an open mind as you explore all your options but there is no other motor that I would run after feeling the power of my LR2.4 and the powerband this thing has. It is an absolute street monster.
