Guys, finally fixed up the EFR8374 (non-WG 1.04TS), which was received last Dec...

EFR8374

Got the car fairly tuned up to just 1.8bar because engine seems to be losing compression after 6500rpm. Could be leakage from the gasket.. So decided to halt the dyno and get it fix first.

Nevertheless, the efr turbo is simply stunning! Here's the dyno graphs:

Too many lines BUT just focus on the PINK and BLACK.

PINK line - EFR8374 with pump gas 93 octane @ 1.8bar - 618hp, 70Kg.m.
BLACK line - GT35 with C16 @ 2bar - 652hp, 70Kg.m.

Both done on the SAME engine and dyno -> rollers like Mustang Dyno (not Dynopack type)

All I can say is..... VERY IMPRESSIVE!!!!!! 618hp/70kg.m on pump gas @ 1.8bar... These figures almost match those on C16 with higher boost...!

I am EXTREMELY HAPPY with the turbo... It has achieved my initial requirements when I ordered this turbo..... Its going to be a crazy b*tch on track when C16 comes in... Based on past experience, C16 produces at least 100hp gain... And I believe once we solve the compression problem, more hp and torque will be produced even at current boost level...

Special thanks to Geoff for his advice during our installation!

What is the cost of the EFR kit with IWG and EWG? Just trying to get a cost/benefit vs a std kit like AMS/ETS HTA86/6262 combos.

so your twin scroll EFR spools slower than an open scroll GT35?

Hardly a fair comparison yet is it! C16 high boost 35 vs pump gas with low boost EFR. Even if you were to be conservative and add 30bhp all the way through it would smoke the GT35 everywhere.

I'm going to assume the race gas with the 35r allowed him to tune more aggressively and gain more torque lower down. Still the difference doesn't seem that big.

28psi vs. 26 psi isn't exactly "high boost" vs. "low boost."

All I see is the EFR on 93 octane slightly more power at a given boost level but the 35R on C16 making 30 more HP with 2 more pounds of boost. Spool on the dyno looks to be the same.

Different boost or not, that's the only way you can really look at that chart as anything else is speculation.

That EFR looks like it is running out of steam. The power is nosing over at a lower peak power and boost level. I wouldnt expect to see a better powerband at higher boost since clearly the EFR is already running into some sort of wall. On my cars whenever the turbo is tapping out it looks worse as the boost gets higher because it peaks faster and then falls off faster. Hopefully you get it sorted out and do 2bar on c16 and do a direct comparison.

How much was your kit? That will give us an idea since we all know what an HTA86 kit costs from various vendors.

I'd taken note of that too, but am pretty convinced the EFR8374 will outflow a GT3582R - I'd say (or hope) the issue is more boost tailing off like a lot of the EFR setups seem to do, due to boost control as opposed to flow. Thats what I am hoping is the case, at least - would be ridiculous if it can't match the old GT35R!
