Just read that whole article. Very good read. I'm really thinking these turbo's are going to change the whole game.

I don't care what car it is on, I just want an EFR turbo!

I'm thinking two 6258's would be just about perfect for a 996 Turbo...

I agree - in fact the head engineer at BW has this setup on his personal twinturbo porsche project. We are working on the 996 and evo X EFR kits right now

im going to make the IWG turbos fit an evo 6/7/8/9, just not sure on the specifics yet. Need to wrap up the evo x and 996 projects first, then we're back at it.

yes, this is what I am considering becuase it could potentially retain A/C in this configuration... of course it will necessitate US owners getting an evo6 style radiator with the offset upper water neck all the way on the left side of the rad. sierra sierra went even farther than evo6:

Question: does the turbo have to be mounted horizontal (i.e., parallel to the ground)?

I'm thinking it would fit if it could be moved more towards the driver's side and angled, so the intake points up and exhaust points down (maybe a 30* angle). Obviously the radiator hose would have to be relocated, but A/C could stay and the exhaust routing would have less of a bend.

That was an awesome read and and a textbook "how to" for marketing turbos to car geeks! I want several of those turbos now.

Mitsu has had titanium aluminide turbine wheels for years though

Agreed. It's easy to tell alot went into theese units. No one has ever targeted us as a market before especially of this magnitude and to have BW in the mix is just the icing on the cake. If you guys need anything as far as testing or r&d dont hesitate to ask, I have plenty of experience of engine testing as that is my full time occupation, sadly we do not have any engine dyno cells to support the high rpm of the import engines since mainly what I do is medium and heavy duty diesel.. But theres always the Mustang chassis dyno at the shop
Also, we have a GT2 with a SP700 kit at the shop, an efr comparo would be badass and I am sure Tym would be interested in coming by to help out.

That read was pretty good for this market. It didn't speak to my true inner geek; that would probably take the proprietary stuff to peak my interest. But I really appreciate that the info like that is made available to those that want to learn more. It made me want to buy one when I get around to redoing the turbo on my car, so I guess it worked.
