i will, but i also want to gain room everywhere i can to get the smoothest radius bend possible.

it gets hot and muggy. i work 12 hour days around hot machinery, it gets 110+ in the building and very humid. when i punch out for the day i want nothing more than cold a/c blowing in my face.

this appears to be the new style they offer, its looks much better. im going to try and get the lead section like this with some hand forming and see if r/t ernie can weld it to my current piece. basically just improve the first 6"-8" where its deadheads.

Yep. I grew up in Milwaukee. I would say summers are nice there - as long as you are never more than about 2 blocks away from Lake Michigan.

whats the largest turbo mounting angle that BW recommends?

e.g. not the core rotation, but the core "tilt" (shaft angle relative with the ground)

Cheers, Mike

Man, they have had to make all kind of compromises on the intake and exhaust sides, as well as cutting pieces on the car just to make that long bastard to fit.

+1 on what R/T Ernie said. They basically need to make a Garrett/Tial turbo with a Titanium wheel in it.

I don't get all the talk about "bearing stability" when the GT ball bearing CHRAs have PROVEN they can take a serious beating in even the smallest CHRAs as GT25s-GT35s are all small shaft turbos with a very compact center housing. Get rid of the diffuser on the Tial housing and let the builder take care of it in the downpipe and they would be another inch shorter on turbo length. I'm sure you could get it even more compact on the compressor side using a bolted connection if that was a goal.

Well I think it's time. Way back in Oct 2010 some of us were already suspicious that these things would be a problem. We were told the idea was to make "game changer" turbos. The more conventionally packaged versions would come later.

Ok we've seen the game changers. Now we want the stuff that fits.

How well would a top mount 8374 work compared to how you are doing your 7670?

Just as well. I have tons of extra room for a larger compressor cover. Probably 2.5" to 3" more rOom

Admittedly, the EVO is a pretty tight engine bay for turbo packaging. The reverse rotation setup stock makes things work...barely as even the stock O2 housing is compromised to all hell. Get rid of the reverse rotation and everything is coming in or leaving in the wrong directions.

I wish somebody would release some mirror image stuff...I bet the turbo V-engine guys would LOVE them.

Im pretty excited about my twinscroll build after this weekend. A friend bought gumps old evo x and im driving it from the east coast to milwaukee. 2.3l with a bb .63 t3 6765, taller final drive and tilton triple. Good lord is this contraption laggy and disgusting to drive in stop and go traffic! ill gladly give up 30hp on top to gain low and mid going twinscroll.

Robert Young sure knows how to push the mirror button. If the big-dog companies won't do it themselves, maybe they should let somebody like him do it for them.
