I want a SP Cutout!

Hm. they even put "spool data" but I want to see the transient response difference between the turbos

Then again, it is on a 6 cylinder car, I guess we might not see a huge difference?

LOL, yeah me too.

Check out this twin turbo'ed EFR 7064s on .83 housings IWGs for a customer's 4.2L twin turbo Audi RS4 we supplied part for. Over 1000ft/tq at 3000rpm with still more room to go. Cams are limiting hp to 800ish. Vid is pretty fresh in the tuning, with cams there is still lots more headroom to go.

The BMW forum Bimmerforums has a thread about the new EFR turbine housings. I asked Full-Race for confirmation these were not counterfeit housings which they did. I then asked if someone could send me some pictures of the new housings so I could see what they looked like with the ceramic coating and all that. I also asked for pictures with the gasket held up to verify everything lines up since I was hearing they were off.

IMO the housings look just fine, and if you are thinking of not running an EFR turbo because of the turbine casting you are missing the point. The wheel aero, bearing structure, and turbine material are what makes it.

No affiliation with the vendor, just a person curious about these turbos and the turbine housing situation. I'm generally a lurker here so my name wont really be recognised, not trolling

Full-Race EFR 8374 IWG .92AR PICS

As promised ... pics!! Let me know if you want any particular angles/shots. If you want hi-res shots, PM me. I can e-mail them to you. This thing dwarfs my 50-Trim, LOL.

More EFR goodness. As stated on Full-Race's website, the exhaust housing is coated with their silver 2000* coating. Looks pretty decent to me. We'll see how it holds up in actual use.

I'm still waiting for the manifold and other parts to come in. I don't anticipate having final results until late February/March '13.

Exactly what I want, and did you order from Full-Race directly or another vendor?

Yeah actually that housing with coating looks not too bad. Not quite as many divots in the surface as the one posted by wazzu.

So let's see, from your 50 trim settup, you are changing over to a manifold for twin scroll ..... any other changes of note planned to your overall engine setup? What I'm thinking is, as I remember you had a GT3071 for awhile, then the 50 trim, now this 2 scroll EFR. If you aren't going crazy with cams and all kinds of other stuff you could make some interesting comparisons. BTW was your GT3071 with an anti-surge (ported) type compressor inlet or regular inlet?

I ordered from Full-Race - added my name to the list in May or so. But from the sounds of it, the turbos are finally starting to come in.

Yeah, it should be a decent comparison. I run Kelford 272s right now, and I'm not all that excited about them. I may switch over to a set of GSC S2 cams, not sure if I want to risk a set of R2's as I think I will lose too much spool to make them acceptable. Things that will change with the EFR build are going to be:
- Radiator
- Ignition (going with Sparktech)
- Essex brake kit
- Cams (maybe)
- fuel setup
I'll have it tuned on 93 octane to get a good comparison to the 3071 (which was a regular inlet and sucked, IMNSHO) and 50 trim. Then I'll see what I can squeeze out of it on 100 octane. From what I've seen of Geoff's setup, I expect the 8374 to spool earlier than my 50 trim and obviously make a lot more topend.

I remember that you had surge problems with the 3071, and that you liked the 50 trim better overall. Were they both in T3 hotsides with .63 a/r? Did the 50 trim spool up at about the same rpm that the 3071 did - just without the surge?
