Round III

9174 EFR (1.45ar)

Well it's round 3 with these, up till now the 8374 was my favorite for sure, response and power delivery was insane and everybody that drove the car agreed.
With the 9180 It's easy to look at graphs and think you can tell if a turbo set up is laggy but until you driven it it's totally different. A few people thought my 9180 graph looked a little to much of a on/off switch but the car was very responsive with it. I ended up winning Shift Sector Pikes Peak with it in the sedan division.

But I think I might have found my new favorite 9174 .It feels just like my 8374 did power when ever you want it! it really feels so good.
So this hybrid mix of the 9180 compressor with the 8374 turbine wheel. Borg say it can be kept all day at the 120k rpm range so quite a bit more than the 9180 with a max of 128k. We have one dyno session that was done on the worst possible day well over 100deg in the room, but Aaron will post up some stuff soon.

I never got a chance to drive your 9180 before it broke. Hope I can get a chance to drive the 9174. :-)

160 mph.... I would be expecting your 1/4 trap speed to be 150mph at least no?

did both 9180 and 8374 die an early death?

Yea a little low, car wasn't fully turned up for sure, I would expect 170's fully turned up on my full weight evo at that altitude.

May I ask which one failed due to your fault, and what you did to damage it.? I am running a 9180 and am concerned that something as simple as a silicone coupler blowing off under heavy load might destroy it.

Stock Cams, CBRD FMIC, Injen Intake, CBRD LICP (comes with kit), CBRD UICP with stock battery, PTE1000cc w/255lph, High Flow Cat, Catback

26 psi netted 401whp/332wtq- on the 7163- in 90 degree heat and high humidity- the same car was around 329whp at 25.5 psi on the stock turbo-

changes were RBX kit only (manifold/turbo/downpipe)- peak torque in 3rd gear is right at 4000rpm- so about 685rpm slower than the stock turbo- however the transient response is very impressive-

Ill get some plots up! Cant wait to test on a built motor or some other fuel-

I go to dyno August 12th with a similar set up with 272 cams on a 7670 EWGs.. I'm currently running about 26psi hoping to crack 500 on stock head and block

On this particular car- i think it would have been slightly less peak power and better spool-

BBK-B's, BBK's, and red's all made "similar" power ranges here depending on mods- different response and so forth-

sorry for my delay I was on vacation last week

CBRD, do you have any solutions coming up for the larger frame turbos like the 8374 and 9174, 9180?
