help oil light stays on!!!

Dude, stop driving the car... I am telling you, you will suffer more if you continue to drive it, until you find out 100% its the sensor, I can show you the proof. My motor is still apart, now into it a few grand and I am not done yet and I am doing all the work myself.. I had the same symptoms.

yes sorry i mean oil pump, had a bad day at work then all this crap with the car happens. Yeah i parked it for good, what was the cause of your failure? low oil? bad oil pump? Im completely stumped at this crap.

ok update, i finally found the damn sensor on the block after countless hours of looking. Now i have a quick question, it appears to me that the sensor is leaking because when i put my finger around it i get a collection of oil on my fingers. Should i put some type of sealant around the new sensor to fix this leaking?

will teflon tape work if i put it around the thread?

yes. the sensor doesn't need to ground through the threads

ok well update i switched the sensor out and as soon as i fired up the car the light was off!!!! left it running for 5 min and then took a 10 min drive and no light is on. Thank you everyone for all your input.

just saw this thread yea bro its a sensor behind the block kinda hard to get to but it went away after i replaced mine. i did a search on here and found a couple of threads on it which helped me out had a couple of pics on it to but glad you took care of it!
