Back in 08, BR old black Evo 8 drag car was running 8's with stock t-case, front axles, rear, & driveshaft. It just depends on driver & how lucky you are.

I have not broken one thing on my Evo when it was on the Fp black making 600 on a mustang dyno. The car went best pass 9.76 and i must have launched that car and drove it at the track over 75 time no joke. I had the stock T-case, Rebuilt Trans. Car held up like a champ. Car will be different this season hoping to make 800-900whp so will see what happens

this thread is funny too me because I have a subaru. A 600whp is very unreliable. How reliable are the EVO motors at 700whp how long will they last if daily drive the car?

That’s a loaded question. A Subaru Boxer motor is obviously completely different. Getting 600 whp out of that motor is ALOT more difficult than getting it out of a 4G...that being said, a 700 whp motor could last a day....could last a couple years, too many variables to accurately answer that.

As for the original question, Its all luck of the draw....for example: Joe blow will make 550 whp 450 ft/lbs and his car will last a couple years (good tune), his brother Mike blow made 450whp / 450 tq and it blew up on the dyno. Same goes with drivetrain components...to a point, "riding" the clutch and not shock loading the T-case will help longevity...but imo its still a ticking time bomb.

If you want a car that lasts, you build everything....but some of us don't have endless cash flow so pick and choose areas. In my opinion i would rather build the drivetrain first then add the power...then again what fun is that.

You just need to re-word your question to this:

"Should I be surprised when something breaks at over 700awhp?"

The answer should be no.

gotta remember evos last a while even on stock internals at 500whp. so its not really a suprise how long some will last with even higher horsepower on built internals

It's all about the turbo and torque management though. The 2.4L gets the turbo moving and I control torque with timing and in my case also MIVEC. The 2.4 in and of itself wont break anything unless I am making massive torque way low.
