Home made O2 Dump

I was wondering why nobody has attempted to make their own O2 (Wastegate) Dump.

If someone were to buy the flange, I don't see why it would cost that much to just measure and cut their own exhaust tubing and do it themselves, or have an exhaust company do it for them.

Buy this and maybe 50 dollars additionally in hardware/ piping?

Just a thought....

Yea but pipe bending, cutting, flanging for DP and welding is where the money adds up.

If you can get it done cheap more power to ya

I am fabbing up my own twin turbo kit at the moment on my other car, and I have a welder and alot of scrap tubing and random bends already, then I came up with this Idea.

In that case I say go for it man. Saving money for work you can do yourself is sweet and satisfying.

It's a good idea but honestly you can get a tubular O2 housing on Ebay for about $50. No fabrication, easy install. Call me a lazy American but I'd rather just drop $50 and put the part on instead of actually trying to make one.

I understand that it is way easier buying one already made. I was just looking for the best gains for the cheapest amount.

R/Ternie fab'ed his own 3" o2 dump housing. It's pretty bad ***. He doesn't sell them on the forum though (no vendor stats) so I am not pushing that example or anything, just saying it's out there and probably one of the best pieces and that it has been done before.

Correct! I have the only true 3" R/TErnie housing w/ dump tube. I also matted a 44mm MVR on the dump tube to control boost better. I think his housing is the best money can buy!

There are a few people running his 3" recirc housing

Edit - ^ one of them being Freddie... Should have read the whole post before commenting.
