Should a BOV void a warranty???

Hi guys.. recently i brought my evo in to the dealer and had a check up cuz my engine light popped up but went away.. but this isnt about that. He said that my warranty was voided by my BOV so i would be charged to fix anything in case anything did happen. and i've talked to other people and they had an intake and exhaust and the dealer just let them go. so whats up with the voided warranty??

asked three dealers if a bov would - they all said yes. didnt really have a reason why, they said the mitsubishi representative looks at it and then determines if it does or doesnt

well he can go ahead and prove exactly how a BOV affects a motor in such a way that it damages it..... a BOV isn't even a true performance upgrade, you gain no power out of it other then what the stock BOV might have been leaking... The only thing that is "might do is alter emissions, but that would only be if it was VTA. and it would only alter when load is released not under load.... Saying a BOV voids warranty is like saying aftermarket wheels and tires would void it as well...

PS next time don't ask them if a part will void it, ask them to tell you why such part would void a warranty, half the time they don't know left from right.

Well I had a downpipe and catback on my car and nothing was ever said. I was told though that installing my intake would void my warrenty. I just kinda ignored him being I've never seen him before anyways.
