Damn it's not looking too great for me sounds like.

Everytime I get off the highway, or coming to a stop, the RPMs will drop, and most of the time drop so low that the car goes off. Maybe 3 out of 5 times it will go off. I just put it in gear, and start rolling again.

That was idle. The car will start right up, and drive fine until I need power.

Usually the sign of bad main bearings .
Starting hard , dying when off throttle and dying when pressing in the clutch .

Only dies when off throttle sometimes. So hopefully this is an early sign of this and didn't doo too much damage.

I'm going to cut the filter tomorrow and go from there. This is going to suck, but at the same time, I'll have a motor that I built and not "hope" after somebodys word.

check for saft play on the turbo.

I don't know why you oil light is coming on, it might be a failing sensor or worse. One thing that stood out was your compression check. You shouldn't have a 20psi difference between the lowest and highest compression figures. That should only be at most 12psi I think.

No bueno

The head will be tomorrow. Hopefully she is good.
I'm looking at it the bright side. Now I have an excuse to build the motor a little.

If there are no shavings in the head you should be fine. you can thank the oil pressure regulator in the head for that.

Now you should know:

You cant reuse the oil cooler now or the oil cooler lines
Get everything inspected that youre gonna reuse.. (turbo, turbo lines, etc)
If youre gonna reuse that oil pan you need it hot tanked.

New oil pickup tube, and etc.. lots of things you cant reuse over.

It's ok man. We all learn one way or another. I got lucky I got the car really cheap, but does explain why. I'm not sweating it too much, I'll still be on top after I spend the $2k or so for the new motor.

Thanks guys for all the help. My headaches with my first DSM has just begun.
